This vessel offer a unique shoal draft, modified keel, drawing only 5' 6".
The design of the shortened keel was created in association with Mars Keel Technology of Burlington. Their calculations showed that to shorten the originalkeel from a draft of 6?-5? to 5?-6? it would be necessary to put back all of theremoved lead (800 pounds) and add an additional 300 pounds for a total of 1100 pounds to keep the righting moment the same as it had been before.
